Would you like to pass your IELTS exam with flying colours?

Then read on - this will be important to you.

  • Are you struggling to get band 7 or above?

  • Have you already taken the test and not achieved this?

  • Are you doubtful that you will ever pass the test with the right band?

  • Are you losing heart?

If you have answered YES to any of these questions then READ ON this might change your life.

  • How would it feel if you were so prepared for your IELTS exam that you were actually looking forward to it? (yes, really!)

  • How would you like to write every Task 1 and Task 2 knowing that it would get you the band you need?

  • How would it feel if you knew that whatever topic you were given at your speaking test you would be able to handle it.

  • And how would you like to be completely confident that you could perform in your IELTS exam at the level you need?

Most people want to be in this position when they enter the exam room to take the test and yet most people don't feel like this.

In fact, most people walk into that room with butterflies in their stomach and their fingers crossed in their pockets.

So why is this the case?

One reason is because some IELTS candidates buy into IELTS myths.

Here are some of these

  • The more IELTS test books I practise the better my chance of passing.

  • If I memorise essays done by friends who have passed I'll get through.

  • The test is getting harder.

  • Examiners don't pass people from X country because of immigration rules.

  • I need to practice at least 8 hours of IELTS every day in order to pass this exam.

  • If I take the test at centre Y I will have a better chance of getting the band I want.

  • Examiners are looking for certain 'set phrases' I must memorise these.

None of these are true.

I know this because I used to be an examiner and I have also taught many people for the IELTS exam and these ideas are simply a distraction.

You hear these stories from people who didn't prepare properly for the exam.

These reasons are also all external - YOU are in control of your exam, nothing or nobody else.

I know that YOU are different, that YOU know that you can't use these excuses and that YOUR preparation will get you to where you want to be.

But remember in order to change you will need support.

Another reason people feel afraid is because they believe that as long as you keep going over and over your IELTS books you will pass eventually

Why go through this pain month after month?

A few years ago I was teaching an IELTS class. I gave them all two essays to write every week. I marked all the essays and returned them with comments and corrections. I also put a suggested band score at the bottom of their essay.

After a few weeks I noticed that every week I was writing the same comments and making the same corrections. I also noticed that the band scores I was giving were exactly the same each week.

Why were these students not improving in their writing?

I asked them what happened after they received their essays back.

Everyone in the class replied that they looked at their score at the bottom of the page and then put the essay away into their folders.

Do you look at the mistakes and comments? I asked them.

No, we just look at the score.

Then, I mused, how can you improve if you don't correct the errors you made in the last essay?

If you DON'T do something DIFFERENT, NOTHING can CHANGE!

Yet another reason is that people think this is a test of IELTS and forget that it is a test of English language!

Yes, the more practice you get at listening, speaking, reading and writing the better positioned you will be to prepare for the IELTS test itself.

IELTS students tell me:

  • The topics are unfair I know nothing about the environment, global warming, pollution etc.. How can I speak or write about these.

Never has it been easier to find out about these topics - watch TV, read a newspaper, it's part of your IELTS preparation

  • Others say they haven't got time to watch TV, listen to the radio, speak to people or read the newspaper - they have to practice their IELTS!

What can I say?

This sounds like a lot of work doesn't it?

  • Find suitable articles,

  • news videos,

  • check your grammar,

  • find opportunities to speak,

  • write essays and get them corrected

  • AND take some time to practise dedicated IELTS exercises!

This really is looking like 8 hours a day!

Well, here's the thing, YOU don't have to search for any of this because I have put everything together for you already!

It's all in one place waiting for you to get started.

So why have I done this?

  • Because I know that YOU are committed to making a difference in your learning. For you the IELTS is a gateway to YOUR future and that is TOO important to risk.

  • Because I know that YOU want to be the best you can be in IELTS for your work and your future. That is why I am inviting you to be a part of this programme.

  • And because I know that with the right support and encouragement you can reach great heights with YOUR IELTS, YOUR work and YOUR life.

And that's not all - because this programme needs a real change in focus in the way you prepare for IELTS - I know that it's right for YOU.

Remember nothing will change until YOU change the way you approach this.

I know this because I've worked with many IELTS students over the past 15 years and I've seen them get to where they needed to be over and over again. But they only managed this by changing.

But change needs the right support - that's why I want to help you to get to where you want to be.
