ARRESTS 'IMMINENT' SAY POLICE IN 'GALLERY MURDER' CASE

The chief investigating officer on the R T Guy murder case stated yesterday that arrests were imminent.

D I Nabbem, who has led the case from the outset, confirmed that his officers were preparing to bring the case to a close. Speaking at a specially convened Press conference, Nabbem said the case had been "complex and arduous, with many different angles and lines of inquiry, all of which had been thoroughly investigated."

When asked if he believed that more than one arrest would be made, Nabbem replied " I can confirm that we are expecting to make a number of arrests in this case, both for the crime itself and as a result of the investigations we have carried out into the victim's business."

However, he would not be drawn on what charges some of the people would be facing, except to state that there were likely to be arrests both at home and overseas.

Nabbem further added that the case was drawing to its conclusion, and praised the efforts of his team in what had proved to be an intriguing and, at times, very complex task. He also thanked overseas police Forces whose co-operation in the case had helped towards its swift conclusion.
