Holmes and Watson
Holmes and Watson are taking a camping holiday, and after a busy day exploring their surroundings, the pair settle down for the night.
After a number of hours, Holmes wakes and nudges his friend awake.
"Watson", he calls, "look up and tell me what you see."
"Millions and millions of stars" comes the reply.
"And what does that tell you?" Holmes asks.
Watson ponders a while, gazing at the stars for inspiration.
"Astronomically, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets" he begins. "Astrologically, I observe Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce the time to be 3.15am. Theologically, I can see God is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant", he continues. "Meteorologically, I surmise we will have a lovely day tomorrow", and he pauses for effect.
"What does it tell you?" he asks Holmes.
There is a long pause, and Holmes slowly shakes his head and sighs.
"Well, Watson, it tells ME that someone has stolen our tent!"
